Rome, 13 June (LaPresse) – The State Police, as part of an investigation coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office and conducted by the Postal and Cyber Security Police Service, has secured the takedown of the cFake.com platform, which was used to disseminate sexually explicit images and videos online, some of which were created using artificial intelligence. The investigation was launched in October 2025 following reports regarding the site, on which audiovisual content depicting women from the worlds of politics, entertainment, sport and culture was published, including through the use of deepfake techniques. Among the victims were figures such as Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Chiara Ferragni, Elly Schlein, Laura Pausini, Federica Pellegrini and Tania Cagnotto. The platform featured an English-language interface and access was subject to self-certification of legal age. Technical investigations identified the hosting infrastructure as being located in the United States. In November 2025, the Court of Rome, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, ordered a preventive seizure, carried out by blocking access to the site within Italy.
