The many treasures of the peninsula and its islands are closely linked to the communities that have expressed them, to their peculiar development, and we are aware that there are, today, areas in distress, necessary abandonment, risks of depopulation. Restoring balance in places where nature has been forced and where so many assets of Italian culture reside is a necessary path to foster sustainable growth, and to strengthen our country as a whole'.
