Rome, March 17 (LaPresse) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with King Abdullah II of Jordan at Palazzo Chigi. According to an official statement, the discussion primarily focused on the situation in Gaza, where "humanitarian needs remain urgent."

In this regard, the two leaders expressed appreciation for the strong cooperation between their nations in humanitarian aid, both through Italy’s Food for Gaza initiative and Jordan’s air bridge initiative, to which Italy has contributed with helicopters provided by the Ministry of Defense.

"Meloni," the statement from Palazzo Chigi reads, "reaffirmed her full support for Jordan’s crucial role in the Middle East region as a force for peace and dialogue."
