Naples, 11 Apr. (LaPresse) – ‘The Constitutional Court's ruling brings me back to life. The problem is that now Campania and Naples must not go back to the swamp. This is the problem we face, and we will have to work to prevent Campania and Naples from going back to the swamp. With great serenity, with great sportsmanship, even with a great sense of liberation’. These were the words of the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, commenting in a video posted on Facebook on the decision of the Constitutional Court that declared the unconstitutionality of the regional law that in fact paved the way for his candidacy for a third consecutive term as head of the Region. ‘As far as I'm concerned,’ added De Luca, ‘I don't have a minute to waste on the chatter of political politicking. I will allow myself to express my opinion when the time comes, asking the citizens of Campania to listen to me, that's all. For now, no one should be distracted. Chatter is chatter, programmes and real things are what remain and what we must work on with great serenity’.
