Milan, 16 Apr (LaPresse) – The possibility of a third term in office ‘would appeal to me’. This was said by Massimiliano Fedriga, the Lega Nord governor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in an interview with the daily Corriere della Sera. On the words of his colleague Luca Zaia, who complained about discrimination between autonomous and ordinary regions, Fedriga said: ‘Luca rightly stressed that the possibility of a third term should be granted to everyone. And on the other hand, the Constitutional Court has not said that it cannot be done at all. If anything, we have to change the law because the current one, passed in 2004, puts a ceiling on two terms of office.' ‘You have to let the voters decide,’ he adds, ‘candidacy in itself does not ensure election. Go ahead if your community feels you have governed well. The electoral body is mature, we cannot treat citizens like children'.
