Milan, 22 Apr (LaPresse) – ‘He had a charisma that came from his great humanity’. Fausto Bertinotti said this in an interview with Corriere della Sera. ‘Francis was the Pope who came from the end of the world and had the burden of building the Catholic Church being a Jesuit,’ he says. ’He disguised his ideological profile in the name of his being a pastor, he practised the theology of the people, different from the theology of liberation. But in the end he succeeded in his intent'. Pope Bergoglio ‘did not limit himself to a single act, but went the whole way in his pontificate. He has emphasised his pastoral character'. ‘Pope Francis reiterated to the end that peace is built through disarmament,’ he emphasised.
