Milan, 11 May (LaPresse) – The Italian premier "unquestionably has an important diplomatic role. And what's more, we can say that it's not a surprise to anyone. With Ms Meloni we have differences, in particular on her support for the election of Ursula von der Leyen. But I can see that she has managed to achieve important results both externally and for the Italian economy'. This was stated in an interview with Corriere della Sera by Marine Le Pen, founder of Rassemblement national, in Rome to attend the League's Political School. 'I think I can say that the vision of Giorgia Meloni and her government is very far from that of Macron. But France and Italy are the two most similar countries, they have roots in the same culture. I am in favour of a rebirth, indeed a renaissance of relations between Italy and France,' Le Pen stressed.
