Rome, May 13 (LaPresse) – "The government majority has launched a campaign that poisons the public debate about the referendums of June 8 and 9. The invitation to abstain and stay home undermines the health of our democracy, already severely tested by the repressive and liberticidal policies promoted by the Meloni government. It is a disdainful call to disregard public issues that affect the daily lives of all citizens. The referendum is a civic tool that offers all eligible voters the opportunity to decide and make change. Choosing to work so that citizens forgo this opportunity is dangerous and irresponsible, an act of antidemocratic sabotage." This was stated in a joint note by Angelo Bonelli, Giuseppe Conte, Nicola Fratoianni, and Elly Schlein.
