Rome, May 16 (LaPresse) – “We live in an extremely interconnected world; the interdependence of our destinies is a fact,” said Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the opening session of the European Political Community summit taking place in Tirana, Albania. “What happens on Europe’s eastern borders is connected to what happens on the Mediterranean borders, and vice versa.”
“The wound inflicted on the rules of the international system by Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine continues to have destabilizing effects far beyond the borders of the region,” the Prime Minister added. “Like a domino effect, this is contributing to reigniting or triggering other crisis hotspots. We have seen it in the Middle East and beyond.”
