Vannacci: ‘I'm not giving up on the Tenth, ready to join Bossi in Gemonio’

Milan, 16 May (LaPresse) – ‘I am flattered by this appointment. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and I will not betray it, because I consider it more a great responsibility than a mere function’. This was stated by Roberto Vannacci, MEP and new deputy secretary of the League, in an interview with La Stampa. The general accepted Matteo Salvini's proposal "because, he explains, the League is the only Italian sovereignist party capable of changing things in the real world. It doesn't just shout from the rooftops like the zero-point parties do: it has its own representatives in Brussels, in Montecitorio, in the regions and in the municipalities.‘ ’I've done my calculations and over the last 25 years, around 150 parties have been formed in Italy. How many have survived?‘ Vannacci points out. And when asked whether this role will force him to put the Tenth Division away in a drawer, he replies: ’No, I will continue to display it and I don't think there is another party in Italy that can pay better tribute to this glorious and decorated division of the Regia Marina." As the League's number two, will you also go to Gemonio to visit Umberto Bossi? ‘Yes, I've wanted to do that for a long time. I had already discussed it with Salvini. If the Senatur wishes, it will be an honour for me to go and pay my respects to the founder of the oldest party in the Italian parliament,’ explains the general.
