Rome, 2 June (LaPresse) – "On the sidelines of the traditional military parade, which accompanied the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the birth of the Republic, I would like to express my appreciation for the image presented by the units involved in the event. The setting of Via dei Fori Imperiali highlighted this important anniversary with significant public participation, which also expressed warm affection for the Armed Forces, a tangible sign of gratitude for their daily commitment to serving the Republic, both at home and abroad, on behalf of the entire international community. This is a commitment whose importance we feel more than ever in order to contribute to the pursuit of collective security and the development of human rights, which are necessary to guarantee a dignified life and peaceful coexistence among peoples. These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in his message to the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto. ‘I invite you, Minister, to convey my appreciation to all the women and men of the Defence Forces who, with dedication and professionalism, have contributed to the success of today's celebration,’ concluded the Head of State.
