Rome, June 6 (LaPresse) – "Fratelli d’Italia’s openness to a third term for mayors and regional presidents? We’re ready to discuss anything that benefits citizens, even this afternoon. If people are allowed to re-elect a good mayor or governor as many times as needed, we support that. But every decision must be made quickly, because people deserve clarity," said League leader Matteo Salvini on the sidelines of a visit to the Carabinieri Village in Rome.
"Can it be done in time for autumn? If we move quickly, yes. Would Luca Zaia run again? It’s not about names. The principle is: is there a line of people wanting to be mayor or governor? Not always. If you find a good one, people should be able to keep them. It’s not about Zaia, Salvini, or Fedriga — it’s about the citizens. If we agree, we move forward. If not, we carry on," added the minister.
"A date to meet and decide the candidates? I’m ready — except Sunday and Monday, when I’ll be in Paris," he concluded.
