Milan, June 9 (LaPresse) – The Israeli company Paragon Solutions told the newspaper Haaretz that it has canceled contracts with the Italian government, implying that Italy had not completed all the checks related to the case of Fanpage director Francesco Cancellato.
“We proposed to the Italian government and Parliament a way to verify whether Paragon’s systems were used against the journalist, in violation of Italian law and the terms of the agreement. After the Italian authorities decided not to proceed with this solution, we canceled the contracts in Italy,” the company told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
“In light of the recent conclusions of the parliamentary committee, Paragon is ready to cooperate with any investigation, should it receive an official request from the Italian authorities,” the company added, putting the ball back in Italy’s court, Haaretz noted.
