Rome, June 12 (LaPresse) – “I have read and studied point 6 of the center-right electoral program with which we won the 2022 elections, where it states that the center-right commits to the economic and social integration of regular immigrants: so it seems to me that I am in perfect harmony with the center-right electoral program.”
This is what Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said on the sidelines of a Forza Italia event.
“The draft laws already exist, and we intend to proceed with our proposal. We are not willing to support other parties' proposals that have nothing to do with ours,” he added.
“So, if it is thought that Forza Italia would support a choice aiming at 5 years of education, we say no immediately because five years are not enough. Berlusconi said it, and we keep repeating it. Another matter is the integration of this million young people who study in our schools – ten years of successful study, not ten years of just being enrolled in school. So, instead of starting at 18 years old after having idled around for ten years and then obtaining Italian citizenship, it is better to send these young people to school, train them, and prevent them from joining gangs in the suburbs. It is better to have them go to school, be trained, and become decent citizens. That is what I focus on. When I talk about security, I always do so with great seriousness; I don’t make demagogic slogans but talk about serious things and serious proposals. I am ready to engage with everyone on these issues because I believe this is a serious way to address the presence in our country of young people who are children of regular migrants. Problems must be faced and solved. It is certainly not the only problem of our country, but I invite everyone to read point 6 of the center-right electoral program.”
