The reform does not address the key issues and critical points of the justice system that we were prepared to work on together. This reform proposal risks exacerbating those problems and undermining the independence of the judiciary. The Cartabia reform has already limited the transfer of functions to one, whereas there are about twenty per year. The ideological and retaliatory approach is clear." These were the words of PD secretary Elly Schlein speaking at the conference “Justice according to the Constitution” organised by the PD in Rome.
