Rome, June 29 (LaPresse) – A shorter workweek from Monday to Thursday for deputies? "It was a possibility, mentioned on the sidelines of the Chamber’s group leaders’ conference, to see if urgent interpellations could sometimes be scheduled on Thursday evenings, not always but occasionally, to give more importance to parliamentarians’ requests and encourage the participation of ministers and deputies. But without changing the Chamber’s calendar."
This is what Luca Ciriani, Minister for Relations with Parliament, said in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
"It was certainly not a way to work less. On the contrary," he emphasized. "There will be a lot of work in the coming weeks. We have five new decrees that must be converted into law, some by mid-August at the latest, or they will lapse. So I can already say that at least until August 8, we will work at full speed, without absences or wasted time."
