Open Arms, Vannacci: ‘Defending the borders of one's homeland cannot be a crime’

Rome, 19 July (LaPresse) – "After more than 30 hearings and 268 pages of the Palermo court's ruling, which prove their full acquittal, some people still cannot accept that defending the borders and the homeland cannot be a crime. The crimes are other: occupying other people's homes, stealing, stabbing, raping, harassing, disrupting free movement on roads and railways, murdering, robbing, vandalising… Italians will be able to assess this waste of resources and this persecution of those who defended Italy. Full solidarity with Matteo Salvini who, as Minister of the Interior and doing his duty, ensured that irregular immigration flows were reduced to the lowest levels in recent years'. This was the comment on social media by MEP and deputy federal secretary of the Lega, Roberto Vannacci.
