Rome, 29 July (LaPresse) – The Senate's immunity committee has voted against authorising proceedings against former Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano. Only the M5S and PD parties opposed the report. No members of AVS were present. The case concerns the golden key given to Sangiuliano by the mayor of Pompeii. The Rome Court's panel for ministerial offences has asked the Senate for authorisation to proceed against the former minister for the crime of embezzlement. Authorisation to proceed against CNEL president Renato Brunetta has also been rejected. As for the case involving Italia Viva leader Matteo Renzi, the Committee had already voted last week in favour of the former prime minister's immunity from prosecution. Tomorrow, the three different reports of the Committee will be examined by the Senate.
