Rome, August 5 (LaPresse) – “Meloni claims that her dismissal is absurd while a trial is requested for others in the Almasri case? I acknowledge these statements, which are certainly commendable from the standpoint of intellectual honesty, but I say that political responsibility and legal, criminal responsibility can sometimes coincide but do not necessarily do so. That’s the point. It is wrong to think that if one exists, the other also exists, or if one does not exist, the other does not either. The mechanisms determining criminal responsibility are not the same as those for political responsibility.”

This is what Cesare Parodi, president of the ANM, said on Rai Radio1’s ‘Radio Anch’io’.

“I believe Meloni meant that she assumes political responsibility, as is normal since she is the head of government, while criminal responsibility will need to be evaluated. These are two different things,” he concluded.
