Security Decree: new campaign links “real criminals” to photos, Salis also featured

Rome, August 13 (LaPresse) – "Launch of a new anti-crime campaign featuring photos of real criminals. Record crimes in the metro by Bosnians and Romanians." This is the headline of a statement released by the Lega party, relaunching its security agenda. "Data from the Interior Ministry on crimes committed in Italy’s metro systems during the first five months of the year show that the number of people reported or arrested for pickpocketing in the metro includes 26 from Bosnia-Herzegovina, 20 from Romania, and 32 of unknown nationality. No other community has such significant numbers. These figures align with the same period last year, when there were 36 from Bosnia-Herzegovina, 37 from Romania, and 21 of unknown nationality," the statement reads. The Lega adds that it has launched a campaign to promote the Security Decree and, since the left-wing Rome City Council censored posters displayed in the capital for being “unpleasant” (allegedly created with artificial intelligence), a new summer campaign with real photographs is being prepared to be released by the end of August. In particular, the campaign features a group of women including a "lady pickpocket" who, according to media reports, has committed 150 crimes over 20 years, avoiding jail partly due to frequent pregnancies. Under the new rules, it will be harder for her to offend and remain unpunished. Among the images released is also the AVS MEP Ilaria Salis, featured in a card related to the issue of illegal occupations. "From Rome to Milan, shaken by the death of a woman hit by a stolen car carrying four Roma children, the Lega does not stop its campaign in support of law enforcement and the security decree. Will the left censor reality this time?" concludes the party.
