Milan, 20 August (LaPresse) – "Absolutely not. I am responsible for managing the Olympic infrastructure and I hope that these will be peaceful Olympics with athletes from all over the world and all flags flying. So, Israelis, Palestinians, Russians, Ukrainians. Sport should unite, it should bring people together. Those who turn away Russian conductors or dancers and those who do not want Israeli footballers, gymnasts or athletes misunderstand the meaning of unity in sport. And I'm sorry that coaches are coaches and ambassadors are ambassadors'. This was the response of Deputy Prime Minister and League leader Matteo Salvini, on the sidelines of a visit to the Aler houses in Via Bolla, Milan, when asked if he agreed with the Assoallenatori (Italian Coaches Association) regarding Israel's suspension from international football competitions.
