Rome, 13 September (LaPresse) – "We observe with considerable dismay the attempts by the right wing, and now also by Giorgia Meloni, to inflame the political climate with senseless and dangerous accusations against the opposition. As the PD, starting with our secretary Elly Schlein, we have always strongly condemned all forms of political violence. We call on the right, especially in the US, to ban weapons that, in the hands of extremists, madmen and criminals, kill women, men and often children in schools. Meloni is talking nonsense today. Accusing us of who knows what atrocities only serves the right to cover up the cosmic void of this government's actions. We are on the eve of the fourth budget of this legislature and the country is at a standstill, under the threat of tariffs from our friend Trump, with companies calling for urgent measures, with the risk of job losses, with public health care without resources and a school year that is beginning with yet another carolibri. Today, Giorgia Meloni announced measures for the middle class. We await her in Parliament for a debate. Instead of accusing us of faults we have not committed, she should demonstrate her ability to govern. So far, she has failed to do so'. Thus spoke the leaders of the PD in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, Francesco Boccia and Chiara Braga, and the head of the PD delegation in Brussels, Nicola Zingaretti.
