Rome, Sept. 13 (LaPresse) – "We want to show that politics can be authoritative, that it can be credible, capable of dedication, capable of sacrifice, that it can be done with love – for what one believes in, for one’s nation, for one’s people. Look, I want to say this at a time when hatred and political violence are dramatically becoming a reality again, and many unresolved issues are coming to a head." Thus said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the national convention of the UDC, taking place in Rome.
Charlie Kirk "was frightening because when you have no arguments, you fear those who do. I’ve seen it happen many times. Those who have no arguments are left only with the weapon of criminalization, the weapon of insult, the weapon of making the opponent unacceptable, the weapon of violence – which always begins as verbal violence but sometimes also becomes physical violence. I say this because in recent days I have read many inhumane comments about the death of Charlie Kirk, and I’ve read others that were frightening."
