Gaza, Schlein: "No parliamentary sessions until Meloni comes to report"

Rome, Sept. 19 (LaPresse) – “It is extremely important to be here. We thank the union for this initiative, for the strikes that had high participation, and for the demonstrations everywhere. The PD stands by them to continue insisting on the recognition of the State of Palestine and to stop Netanyahu’s crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, for sanctions, and to halt cooperation agreements between the EU and Israel and between Italy and Israel on military collaboration. We continue to push before a government that only uses empty words, while in practice it slows down a European response like the one on sanctions. Yesterday we interrupted parliamentary work and we are ready to continue and block parliamentary sessions until Meloni comes to answer for what the Italian government is doing in Brussels on sanctions and in New York on the recognition of the State of Palestine,” said PD Secretary Elly Schlein at the Cgil demonstration for Gaza today in Bologna.
