Rome, 6 October (LaPresse) – Tomorrow's event in Bologna "is an event that offends the memory of the victims of 7 October and hurts the dignity of those who truly fight for peace. To claim 7 October means betraying the Palestinian cause and fuelling hatred and violence.‘ This is how MEP and member of the PD secretariat, Sandro Ruotolo, contacted by LaPresse, comments on tomorrow's demonstration. ’Those who promote such initiatives do not defend the Palestinian people: they harm them,‘ he adds. ’Those who claim to be in solidarity with Gaza cannot celebrate a massacre. It is a disgrace that must be condemned without ambiguity.‘ ’A demonstration that glorifies the 7 October massacre carried out by Hamas is a wake-up call that should not be underestimated,‘ echoed Democratic Party MP Andrea De Maria. ’Nor should the episodes of violence that occurred during the marches for Gaza be underestimated," he added. All of us who took to the streets peacefully and non-violently must be determined and uncompromising in isolating and rejecting any violent or anti-Semitic tendencies. And we must stay the course on what is the only response to the terrible spiral of war and terrorism: the resumption of the peace process. To guarantee the Palestinians the right to live in their own state and the right to the security of the state and people of Israel."
