(LaPresse) – ‘The peace plan presented by President Trump – which has received strong support not only from European nations, but also from Arab and Islamic countries – offers an opportunity that must not be wasted, to achieve a permanent cessation of hostilities, bring home the hostages still in the hands of Hamas and start a process towards a framework of peace and security throughout the Middle East.’ So said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the second anniversary of 7 October 2023. ‘Two years have passed since the ignominy of the massacre carried out by Hamas terrorists against thousands of defenceless and innocent Israeli civilians, including women and children. Unspeakable crimes that make 7 October one of the darkest pages in history,’ the prime minister wrote in a statement.
