Florence, 13 October (LaPresse) – ‘A victory that gives us joy and hope.’ This was how PD secretary Elly Schlein described the early projections in Tuscany today at Eugenio Giani's election headquarters in Florence, which show the centre-left candidate with a clear lead over his centre-right opponent Alessandro Tomasi. ‘Giani has seen a clear increase in support,’ she added. ‘Those who had declared the end of the progressive coalition have been clearly proven wrong, and we are preparing to win in other regions. We will continue with conviction on this united path. Adding up the votes from the three regions that have already gone to the polls, the progressive coalition has more votes than the centre-right.’
