Padua, Oct. 17 (LaPresse) – "This is the story of a real tragedy, like a war report: three dead and about twenty injured. Dying like this, while serving the State, makes no sense. I believe the presence of so many institutions – from the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and 7–8 ministers – is proof of the State's closeness and signifies the sacrifice of these servants of the State," said the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, at the end of the State funerals in Padua for the three Carabinieri who died in the Castel d’Azzano explosion. "They were rigorous people who fully understood the meaning of sacrifice, duty, and respect for rules and laws. Then to be faced with such a paradoxical situation, with three individuals filling their home with gas and blowing it up – it’s unimaginable. We are here united with all the families, to express my condolences and those of all Venetians. As Minister Crosetto said: 'Remembrance is fundamental'," he added.
