Rome, 20 October (LaPresse) – The PD attacks Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after Donald Trump reposted a video on social media in which a MAGA activist claims that the Prime Minister is negotiating a direct agreement with the US on tariffs and is ready to reduce Italy's support for Ukraine. Several leading Democrats, including group leaders Chiara Braga and Francesco Boccia, have intervened, asking the prime minister to clarify and deny the content of the video. ‘The post reposted by Donald Trump announcing that Meloni is breaking with the EU on tariffs and support for Ukraine,’ said Piero De Luca, PD deputy and group leader in the European Policies Committee, "is of unprecedented gravity and must be denied immediately. These are sensational statements which, if confirmed, would raise enormous doubts about the work of our government and the economic policies that Italy is adopting. It is urgent and necessary for the Prime Minister to clarify immediately, refuting the US President's statements."
