Rome, Nov. 6 (LaPresse) – “Have you read it? After three years of record taxes and record numbers of people living in absolute poverty, the Meloni government’s meager intervention on income tax benefits the wealthiest 85% of families, according to Istat. Forty-five percent of businesses are excluded from certain benefits despite tariffs, bills, and a 31-month collapse. Is this an upside-down country? The government must not be stubborn. Choose common sense and listen to us, because something can be done right away,” wrote M5S leader Giuseppe Conte on social media. “1. Review the rearmament agreements and introduce a genuine windfall tax on banks (over 100 billion euros in profits in three years) and energy companies. Increase the digital tax on web giants, and use the resources to implement a real tax cut for low-income and impoverished middle-class groups, by expanding the no-tax area and increasing the child benefit. 2. Let’s return to the Transition 4.0 plan and the tax credits introduced by my government to cut bureaucracy and costs, promote innovation, growth, and hiring in companies, and avoid leaving small and medium-sized enterprises behind — those now penalized by the return of large-scale amortizations,” he added.
