Rome, Nov. 29 (LaPresse) – Chiara Appendino, MP of the Five Star Movement, has published an appeal to reconnect the Movement with citizens, whom she describes as “tired and disheartened,” wounded and disengaged from politics. According to Appendino, the M5S was founded to give a voice to those who feel unrepresented, turning anger and apathy into participation and energy, and today it has the duty to reverse course. The year 2026 must become the year in which the Movement returns among the people, addressing the country’s real wounds and offering radical, concrete solutions, far from political games and backroom deals.
She presents the “Nova 2.0” project as an open and radical political space for building a new pact of trust with society by tackling real and current issues. Programmatic priorities include strengthening public healthcare with accessible appointments and reliable waiting times, greater equity through the Olivetti law to reduce wage imbalances, protections for workers most exposed to automation and artificial intelligence, and a millionaire tax. For young people, she proposes voting rights at 16, an end to unpaid internships, and a minimum wage. Urban and digital security are central, as is support for production through stable-price energy, real simplification, and a national requalification fund tied to automation.
Finally, Appendino stresses the need for an extraordinary plan to address the housing emergency, so that people who work or study are not pushed out of their own cities. Rebuilding trust, she concludes, is difficult but represents the only mission that truly matters for the Movement.
