Rome, Dec. 9 (LaPresse) – “Small and medium-sized enterprises, self-employed workers, in the fields of tourism, commerce, services, craftsmanship, and industry are important drivers of employment growth and development. The element of work that characterizes them plays a valuable role. They are, at the same time, engines for strengthening social cohesion, fundamental elements of recovery in areas affected by depopulation, points of connection for civil coexistence in the suburbs, and they transfer precious skills to young people who wish to approach these professional fields, contributing to economic progress and increasing the well-being of communities.” Thus said the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in the message sent to President Nico Gronchi on the occasion of the annual Confesercenti Assembly. “Initiatives supporting these sectors therefore appear far-sighted, and it is essential that the wages and incomes resulting from them correspond to the expectations defined by the Constitution,” added the Head of State.
