Rome, 14 December (LaPresse) – "In these three years, I have never felt like a minority because I would like to become the majority in this party on individual issues. Elly pointed out that the anomaly is not the Democratic Party holding congresses, electing leadership bodies and voting on candidates. The anomaly is the other political forces that do not do so. I fully agree. However, there is another anomaly, which perhaps citizens see even more clearly. A party in which, too many times in our history, we have been divided by exasperated factionalism, fuelling improbable rumours in the newspapers and, above all, working to replace the secretary from the day after he was elected. This party has been us', but “given that our goal, without exception, from today onwards will be to win the next elections and give the country another government, let's try to overcome this anomaly once and for all and help ensure that pluralism and democratic debate, which are absolutely vital and necessary, are no longer an alternative to unity and responsibility towards our members and, above all, towards Italians”. This was stated by PD President Stefano Bonaccini, speaking at the national assembly of the Democratic Party.
