Rome, 15 January (LaPresse) – ‘Immediately halt the supply of military equipment to the Ukrainian government authorities, without prejudice to measures intended for humanitarian aid.’ This is one of the commitments contained in the M5S resolution ahead of Defence Minister Guido Crosetto's communications on the Ukraine decree. The text then commits to ‘reporting to Parliament the details of the expenses incurred for the sale of military supplies’; "to interpreting Article 1, paragraph 1, of Decree-Law No. 201 of 31 December 2025 201, in the sense that the Government shall communicate in advance to the parliamentary chambers each authorisation relating to the shipment of weapons, including with reference to their offensive potential, proceeding with the declassification of the annexes containing the list of weapons shipped and possibly to be shipped and any authorisation for their use on Russian territory, in order to ensure the broad involvement of the Chambers in this matter"; ‘to comply regularly with the obligation to report to Parliament, at least once every three months, on developments in the current war situation’; ‘to support, in view of the only negotiation process currently underway, that of the United States, a renewed leading role for the European Union in the approach to resolving the Ukrainian crisis’; ‘to report urgently to Parliament on the commitments made at the last meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, referred to in the introduction, with particular reference to the sending of military equipment, military support, the training of Ukrainian military personnel and intelligence activities’; ‘to take appropriate measures, including legislative measures, aimed at reducing expenditure on weapons systems, which weigh heavily on the state budget’; ‘to support the continued provision of humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people’; ‘to take legislative measures aimed at introducing a special tax on the so-called net extra profits made by companies in the defence industry’.
