Mattarella: ‘Do not erase the progress made by the international community; it must be defended.’

Rome, 22 January (LaPresse) – "They began in a particularly difficult international context, which until a few years ago was actually unpredictable. Minister Tajani has just outlined the situation in a comprehensive and clear manner, including the objectives that our Republic pursues in international life. I will resist the urge to elaborate on these considerations. I will merely say that we feel a duty to ensure that the progress made by the international community in the decades following the Second World War is not undone or erased." These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, when he met the winners of the competition for Legation Secretaries – Corso Boris Biancheri Chiappori at the Quirinale. “A path that has been, with many contradictions, many gaps, many, many flaws, but a path that has advanced the international community in terms of civilisation and shared rules. It is a heritage to be protected, a path to be defended,” he added.
