Rome, 24 January (LaPresse) – Mission Albania, full steam ahead regardless of the cost. The agreement with the 5-star resort for the accommodation of law enforcement officers involved in the management of CPRs has been renewed. As Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has repeatedly stated, Italy intends to continue to focus on “innovative solutions” such as the Protocol signed between Rome and Tirana on 6 November 2023 for the management of the migrant dossier. It matters little that the operation has not yet yielded the results hoped for by the government. “We have not been able to make it work so far because there were ideological rulings by judges,” explained the occupant of Palazzo Chigi. “They told us it was incompatible with EU legislation. Well, we have corrected EU legislation.” Without forgetting to complete the procedures to allow the migrant centres in Gijader and Shengjin to operate at full capacity.
