Palermo, 12 January (LaPresse) – ‘Every power must be given adequate limits, as provided for in our Constitution. The justice reform is a reform of power, whose only effect is to split the CSM (High Council of the Judiciary). An elected CSM is authoritative, not two CSMs chosen by lot.’ This was stated by PD secretary Elly Schlein, from the stage of the “Vote no to defend the Constitution” initiative at the Rouge et Noir cinema in Palermo. ‘This is not a reform of justice, because it does not improve the efficiency of justice for Italian citizens, it does not speed up trials, it does not stabilise the 12,000 temporary workers in the justice system who are trying to speed up trials,’ added Schlein.
