Cagliari, 23 March (LaPresse) – The President of the Sardinia Region, Alessandra Todde, retains her post following the decision of the Cagliari Court of Appeal, which partially overturned the first-instance ruling on her alleged removal from office. The Court quashed the part of the previous ruling that classified the failure to submit the election campaign accounts as an omission, whilst confirming the fine of €40,000. The Court of Appeal therefore noted that the Constitutional Court had already quashed the order of the Guarantee Panel in the part relating to the removal from office, thereby safeguarding the legitimacy of the governor, who is currently in Brussels.
