Rome, Mar. 24 (LaPresse) – “The resignations announced today represent a belated but necessary act in terms of respect for the law and institutions. The fact that they occurred only after the referendum is a clear political element: it confirms the recklessness of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who, for mere electoral convenience, chose to withhold an action that, in light of the facts, could no longer be postponed. We are faced with a serious behavior that once again demonstrates how this majority considers institutions as tools to be bent to partisan needs. Those who at least embarrass the institutions cannot continue to hold public office, especially in extremely delicate roles that require rigor, balance, and a sense of the State.” This is what Debora Serracchiani, Justice spokesperson of the Democratic Party, declared while commenting on the resignations of Delmastro and Bartolozzi.
