Rome, 3 April (LaPresse) – ‘I still believe that, geopolitically speaking, Europe has little to gain from a rift with the United States, but our job is above all to defend our national interests, and when we disagree, we must say so – and this time, we do disagree.’ This was the response from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in a preview of her interview with Tg1 to be broadcast on Friday evening, when asked about the state of relations between Italy and the US following the Sigonella incident.
