Milan, Apr. 11 (LaPresse) – "Remigration? It’s the newspapers that are talking about it, you can see the posters: we talk about security, peace, identity and countering Islamic fanaticism. The term 'remigration' does not appear on any poster, which in any case does not scare me because we are in a democracy and everyone is free to promote their ideas." This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and League secretary Matteo Salvini, on the sidelines of an event in Milan, responding to reporters about the Patriots’ demonstration scheduled for April 18. Asked about the difference between repatriations and remigration and whether he agreed with the latter, Salvini said: "I leave the semantic discussion to you, I am interested in principles. We want a serious and even stronger crackdown on illegal immigration and a reconsideration of how to grant citizenship and residence permits in a more serious and controlled way. No one is thinking of sending home law-abiding regular immigrants who are here."
