Rome, 15 April (LaPresse) – "The international landscape is marked by conflicts that are wounding Europe and the Mediterranean, disrupting the balance of peace and stability that we had come to regard as firmly established until just a few years ago; the foundations of peaceful coexistence, already tested by numerous crises in various parts of the world, are now being further and profoundly shaken by acts of aggression that violate sovereignty and the most basic principles of international law, starting with humanitarian law. At this troubled time, it seems more necessary than ever to defend with due firmness the values enshrined in our Constitution". Thus spoke the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, as he received the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and a delegation from the Air Force at the Quirinale on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of its foundation.
