Turin, May 10 (LaPresse) – Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli has dismissed his staff. According to the online edition of Corriere della Sera, dismissal orders have already been issued for Emanuele Merlino, head of the Ministry of Culture’s technical secretariat and a trusted aide to Undersecretary Giovanbattista Fazzolari, and for Elena Proietti, head of the minister’s personal secretariat. According to the Corriere’s account, the former is being held accountable for failing to oversee the documentary on Giulio Regeni, for which the ministry denied funding, while the latter is “accused” of failing to show up at the airport and of not participating in the minister’s mission to New York last month.
