Rome, 20 May (LaPresse) – “Your presence in Italy is an honour for our Republic, and it is a real pleasure for me to welcome you to this palace and to have the opportunity to speak with you. Your presence demonstrates our shared desire to significantly intensify our cooperation, to the greatest extent possible.” So said the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, as he received the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi, at the Quirinale. “I met with the Foreign Minister here at the Quirinale three years ago, and it is a pleasure to be able to exchange views with you. I know you have already met our Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and that shortly there will be a meeting between the delegations of the two governments, at which you will see her again. I know you have met a delegation from the Indian community in Italy, and I wish to tell you that it is a much-appreciated community, which operates in a dynamic, active and hard-working manner, contributing to the life of our country,” added the Head of State.
