Rome, 24 May (LaPresse) – “The Lega’s position on the civil liability of magistrates is well known. Our secretary, Matteo Salvini, has spoken about it on several occasions, and it is undoubtedly one of the laws that deserves particular attention and priority.” This was stated to LaPresse by Lega Senator Giulia Bongiorno, chair of the Senate Justice Committee and head of the justice department of the party based in Via Bellerio, following the announcement by Forza Italia group leader Enrico Costa regarding the imminent drafting of a bill on the subject, to be submitted for discussion within the majority. Of course, Bongiorno adds, there are certain “constraints” to be respected. First and foremost, the text “must obviously be written in a balanced manner; it must not take the form of a punitive law”. However, the senator concludes, “I support” the proposal and “we must push” for progress on this issue.
