Rome, 11 June (LaPresse) – ‘They weren’t invited to the London summit with France, Germany and the UK.’ So said M5S leader Giuseppe Conte, speaking in the Chamber following Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s statement ahead of the European Council. ‘We no longer count for anything; we’re no longer there. But what are you doing? Playing the victim?’ he added. ‘Prime Minister Meloni, you cannot play the victim, because right up to the very last day you must make Italy’s weight felt; you cannot afford a Schettino-style escape. You must make the national interest heard and defend it. This is not a matter of defending personal pride.’
