Rome, Jan 4 (LaPresse) – Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner finished 11th in the men’s doubles event in Sigulda, Latvia, a World Cup stage. On the Latvian track, the Italian pair climbed from 14th place at the halfway point to finish with a gap of 1.675 seconds behind the German duo Wendl/Artl, who won with a total time of 1'23.045, achieving the best split in both runs.
The second position went to the home team Bots/Plume, who overtook Austria’s Müller/Frauscher in the second run. The Austrians finished third, 0.292 seconds behind. Italians Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier placed 17th after an error in their second run, which dropped them down the rankings following a seventh-place finish in the first run.
