Milan, January 5 (LaPresse) – "The derby is a special, thrilling match. The first trophy of the season is at stake. This is my 13th derby; each one has been different, but I have many memories, such as the Champions League semifinal. We know Milan has changed their coach, but the players are the same, and they are of high quality. We will try not to make the same mistakes as in the league game," said Inter coach Simone Inzaghi at the press conference on the eve of the Italian Super Cup final against Milan, scheduled for tomorrow evening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
"With Conceição, we haven’t met or spoken, but after Porto, nothing happened. We spent many years together (at Lazio, ed.), where we had a great mentor in Sven Eriksson, who guided us toward this profession," he added, recalling the tension during the Champions League Round of 16 some years ago.
"Lautaro? I’ve always spoken about how important he is—he’s a great captain. The other night he had a fantastic game. I was a striker too, so I know what it feels like not to score. But I see him calm and working in the best possible way. The important thing is for the team to win. We must continue this way, knowing that he will give us a tremendous contribution," Inzaghi concluded.
