Milan, Jan. 26 (LaPresse) – Double bronze medal for Italy in the epee Grand Prix in Doha: Lucrezia Paulis in the women's event and Davide Di Veroli in the men's competition conquered the third step of the podium, after applause performances. Also one step away from the medal zone were Alberta Santuccio, ranked 6th among the women on the day of her return after the Olympic team gold medal, and Gabriele Cimini who finished 7th among the men.First podium among the greats of world fencing, in Qatar, for Lucrezia Paulis. The 21-year-old Ariccina of the Fiamme Oro, coming from Friday's qualifying round, started with a victory in the Italian derby over Sara Maria Kowalczyk 12-11, in the round of 64, and then overcame in the round of 32 the Argentine Di Tella with a result of 12-9. In the round of 16, the Roman policewoman got the better of Frenchwoman Vanryssel with a score of 12-10 to enter the top eight.
