Milan, 29 Jan (LaPresse) – ‘It is a great emotion to be here, last year I was in a different capacity and from these boys and girls I took the inspiration to come back and bring home this beautiful cup’. So said Matteo Berrettini in his speech at the Quirinale in front of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. ‘My feeling is one of happiness, thanks to my family I was able to return to my level. We are lucky to have a very long team, in particular there is a boy from South Tyrol who has helped us a little bit….,’ Berrettini added. ‘I would like to thank Filippo Volandri who has always helped me despite the results not coming, as well as Tatiana Garbin who has shown us with her example that fighting is always worth it,’ Berrettini said again. ‘Now the goal is not easy to set, it was a special year full of successes but we will try to do our best. But the important thing is to bring joy and emotions into the homes of Italians who watch tennis,’ Berrettini concluded.
